The pianist Svyatoslav Richter and his wife Nina Dorliak moved into a flat on the 16th floor at 2/6 Bolshaya Bronnaya St. near the Conservatoire in the early 1970s.
The museum which this flat now contains seeks to keep alive the musical and family traditions of its former residents: the kind of people they were and their way of life are reflected throughout.
Apart from household objects, visitors are able to see the large room, where Richter used to play the piano on his own or rehearse with other musicians, and his study known as the “Green Room” – a room to rest in and which served as a dressing room prior to concert performances.
