This painting forms a pair with Inv. No. 3715.

The canvases constitute a pair or belong to the same series of compositions. They were executed by two collaborating artists – one a master of architectural compositions and one a master of staffage figures. In the past, as can be seen from the labels on the reverse the paintings were attributed to Viviano Codazzi (architecture) Domenico Gargiulo (figures). Today this attribution still remains unconfirmed. As for the architecture, in both canvases it has been painted by the same master, while the groups of figures are the work of two different artists.
