The attribution of this work has been changed several times, but always within the confines of the Venetian school in the late 14th century, of which it is a typical example. Pointers to this are the iconographic type, which was widespread in Venice, the nature of the faces and the general decorative scheme. Parts of the background in the corners and the arch framing the composition have been renovated.
