Wall inlays made of bright polychromous faience tiles formed a mosaic-like pattern or were
inserted into painted walls. The tiles exhibited in the State Museum of Fine Arts show that they
could be freely painted or decorated with semiabstract motifs with lotus petals, rosettes, and
bunches of grapes between them.
